Is this a dating app?
No. There's no browsing and no photos to swipe. We match based on what you have in common and who you'd actually benefit from knowing. Livvo is built for friendships, training partners, mentorship, and meeting other athletes.
Is it Livvo or Livvo Labs?
Livvo is the community. Livvo Labs is the company behind it. The "Labs" comes from the idea that we're a lab for relationships, formulating introductions and connections between athletes who should know each other. That's why you'll see livvolabs.com.
Do I need a code?
A code gets you to the front of the queue. They come from teammates who are already members or from the Livvo rep on your campus. If you don't have one, that's okay. Put your name down and we'll review your profile and let you know when there's a spot. Either way, we verify every member before an account opens.
Which schools are open?
A small number, and we're adding more every few weeks. Rather than publish a list, we'll just tell you at signup whether yours is live. Density matters more than reach in the early going, so we're opening campuses deliberately.
How do you verify people?
Every member is checked against public team rosters, athletic department records, and NCAA, NAIA and governing body databases. Anything that doesn't line up gets reviewed by a person. If we can't confirm you competed, the account doesn't open. Varsity only, at any division.
I'm still competing. Is this for me?
Yes. Current athletes are a big part of who we're building for. You'll meet people a few years ahead of you who've already made the decisions you're about to make, but it doesn't stop there. Livvo connects athletes across generations, industries, cities and stages of life.
I graduated a while ago. Am I too late?
No. The whole point is that this holds every stage. The person two years out and the person twenty years out both get something, and they mostly get it from each other.
Can you read my messages?
We can see the threads Livvo opens, and we use that to tell whether an introduction worked. We cannot see anything you send after you've swapped numbers and moved off Livvo. That's between you two. We'll never sell any of it.
Will my phone number be shared?
Not unless you share it yourself. Every thread runs through a Livvo number, so the person you're matched with won't see your number unless you decide to share it.
What if I'm not looking for career stuff?
Then say so at signup and we'll match you accordingly. Plenty of people here just want someone to train with or someone new to go to happy hour with on a Thursday.
How much of my time does this take?
One text on Monday, one word back. If you want a match, you get one on Wednesday. If you're busy, reply no and we'll check back next week. You can pause entirely and come back whenever.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It runs over text. There's a website where you can look back at everyone you've met and change your settings, but you never need to use it if you don't want to.
What if a match goes badly?
Tell us and we'll handle it. Anyone can be reported from the thread, every report is read by a person, and we'll take action when something isn't right. Verification means we know who every member is.
When do the events start?
Social events come first, in whichever cities have enough members to bring the right group together. Dinners, pickleball events, happy hours, and other ways to meet in person. Trips come later. We'd rather do the first ones well than rush them before the community is ready.
Can I invite my teammates?
Yes, and please do. Every member gets unlimited codes to share. We still verify each person the same way we verified you, and the more great athletes in the network, the better the introductions get for everyone.
